Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Maintain communication between the reservations, host team, the kitchen and the rest of the dining room. Welcoming and seating guests accurately and professionally Coordinating effective flow of guests and staff for a variety of events and high-volume services. Provide engaged, friendly, and attentive customer service to all guests inclusive of eye contact, respectable conversation and smiling. Ensure clear communication with guests always making genuine connections. Communicating effectively with management and dining room teams on guest updates, special occasions, allergies, table status, VIPs, etc. Estimating wait times for guests and maintaining the guest wait list. Orchestrate strategic seating plans. Understand tables configuration and optimization. Managing coat check in a clean and organized fashion. Identify guests in relations to their needs, regularity, and time of dining, food and drink choice, seat preference etc. Review all names in reservations and ensure special occasions (birthday, anniversary, etc.) are acknowledged and the allergies are flagged. Complete tasks in other FOH roles when needed to contribute to a positive guest experience. Perform any other duties as assigned by Management.
Required skills:
At least 2 years of Maitre D experience in a fine dining setting, fast paced restaurant Displays a pleasant and cheerful disposition Able to communicate professionally and effectively with both guests and staff Working knowledge of Resy or OpenTable. Available to work weekends, and holidays if necessary Must be able to stand and or walk for long periods of time without sitting
