Shipping and Receiving Clerk
Schedule: Monday - Friday 7am to 3pm
Location: Dayton, NJ
The Opportunity:
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk must ensure the proper shipping of all completed finished goods to ensure accuracy between shipments and bill of lading. This position is responsible for performing duties in accordance with established shipping procedures. In addition, they are required to maintain efficiency and timely shipments to external customers.
How you will impact Smurfit Westrock Packaging Solutions:
Ability to review all pallet label information to determine the label represents the pallet of finished goods
Ability to use the AS/400 computer system for warehouse management and shipping systems
Ability to use forklift and reach truck for material handling
Ability to determine the cleanliness of the load and use the pallet cleaner as needed
Ability to communicate with outside carriers to coordinate the pickup of finished goods
Ability to communicate issues with Account Managers
Ability to create a Bill of Lading or Shipping Order for all shipments
Ability to perform final inspection of pallet looking for accuracy and any damage
Ability to use proper safety systems and safety checks for dock locks and entering and leaving a truck with a fork truck
Ability to keep records and logs updated and accurate to reflect shipping activity
Ability to complete and turn in all documentation to accounts receivables or requisitioned
Ability to locate specific inventory at any time
Maintain housekeeping in and around dock, storage, and shipping yard and baling room
Ability to assist in material handling
Ability to assist in the receiving coordinators functions
Ability to assist in the baling function
Ability to perform physical inventories as needed including offsite warehouses
Maintain areas of recycling of metal, wood, and paper
Other duties as assigned What you need to succeed:
Must currently be in the Warehouse Department
Must have Forklift Certification
Previous Shipping and Receiving experience
Previous Inventory Control Experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Must be able to lift 50 pounds, able to use a computer, ability to communicate with carriers and internal manager and solve problems. The individual must be capable of operating without direct supervision.

The starting rate for this position is $22-26/hr., depending on your role, level and location.
