Commissioning Technician
Minimum Requirements
Eight (8) years of full-time paid professional experience in commissioning
Working knowledge of building codes, CHPS, and commissioning requirements
ANSI commissioning certification (CxA, CxT, BCxP, or Certified Commissioning Professional)
Extensive knowledge of building, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
Education: Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree, preferably in mechanical or electrical engineering, architecture, or construction management
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in design or construction management focusing on mechanical systems Engineer-In-Training Certification or valid CA Professional Engineering License Industry-recognized energy management certification
Duties: Manage the commissioning process on various small to medium-sized in-house projects Perform commissioning design reviews, submittal reviews, and closeout document reviews Create pre-functioning and functional checklists and commissioning plans Conduct commissioning meetings and manage the commissioning process for assigned projects Perform field observations and functional testing Document and track test results and issue resolution logs Create commissioning deliverables such as final reports Assist in staff training and continuing education development Support the Project Manager of Commissioning as a Subject Matter Expert (SME)
