Position Summary:

The

Shipping & Receiving Coordinator

plays a vital role in managing and coordinating all aspects of inbound and outbound shipments for a busy pipe fabrication facility. This position ensures accurate documentation, efficient scheduling, and timely communication with internal teams and external carriers. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a manufacturing environment, with a strong background in shipping and receiving logistics, including LTL coordination and project-based shipment support.

Key Responsibilities: Receive and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and packing slips. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all incoming and outgoing shipments. Coordinate daily shipping schedules, including Less Than Truckload (LTL), full truckloads, and local deliveries. Prepare bills of lading, shipping labels, and associated paperwork for outbound shipments. Work closely with Project Managers to ensure project deadlines and shipment timelines are met. Schedule and confirm truck appointments with carriers and vendors, ensuring optimal load timing and dock availability. Organize and stage outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy and completeness. Communicate job numbers and part numbers to material handlers to ensure materials are marked correctly per job. Report any discrepancies in received materials immediately to the buyer and materials manager to help mitigate potential shortages on active jobs. Monitor inventory movement and assist with cycle counts as needed. Ensure compliance with all safety and transportation regulations. Communicate regularly with fabrication, purchasing, and quality departments to coordinate material and product flow. Maintain cleanliness and organization of shipping and receiving areas. Qualifications

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or vocational training preferred. Minimum 2 years of experience in a shipping and receiving role, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment. Prior experience working with freight carriers, LTL shipments, and truck scheduling required. Familiarity with pipe, fittings, and industrial materials is a plus. Strong time management and organizational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and shipping software systems. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate forklifts or pallet jacks (certification preferred). Excellent communication skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
