Salary: $0 / Week Amergis Healthcare Staffing is actively hiring a Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) for a reputable hospital in Contra Costa County. California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License required. Schedule: 40 hours a week, must be flexible. Overview: Amergis is looking for a dedicated Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) to perform a range of general and specialized techniques in molecular biology. This includes conducting high-complexity diagnostic procedures that require manual techniques as well as operating semi-automated laboratory instruments for detecting microorganisms, viruses, and their components. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform clinical laboratory procedures in various areas, including clinical chemistry, microbiology, hematology, immunohematology, urinalysis, and phlebotomy. Operate and maintain manual equipment and computer-controlled automated instruments. Ensure quality control by collecting and maintaining statistical data. Draw blood samples for laboratory testing and process specimens. Rotate through different areas of the laboratory to conduct tests. Communicate patients' test results verbally and in writing to medical and nursing staff. Stain and interpret blood smears and other biological specimens. Type and cross-match blood for transfusion purposes. Prepare laboratory reagents. Monitor inventory levels of supplies. Maintain accurate laboratory logs and records. Minimum Requirements: Possession of a valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist license issued by the California State Department of Health. Bachelor's Degree in chemical, biological, or physical sciences or medical technology from an accredited college or university. 1 year of professional clinical experience preferred; Medical Technology certification desirable. Working knowledge of standard and specialized laboratory equipment, such as pipettes, pH meters, balances, and centrifuges. Proficient in verbal and written communication skills in English. Current Health Certificate (specific to the contract). Current PPD (specific to the contract). Successful completion of the background screening and hiring process.
