This hybrid position may be based out of either our Fort Smith or Little Rock, Arkansas offices. Position Summary

The Senior GIS Analyst is responsible for the strategic direction, design, implementation, and support of all GIS systems at Summit Utilities. This role acts as the GIS Product Owner, ensuring a continuous alignment of GIS capabilities with evolving business needs. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and brings a customer service-oriented mindset to support dynamic, high-performing teams. Primary Duties And Responsibilities

Design, implement, and support all aspects of Summits GIS platform, including web maps, mobile access for field personnel, web services, and core GIS infrastructure. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, planning, engineering) to align GIS solutions with business objectives. Translate business needs into clear GIS requirements and scalable solutions. Develop and implement customized geospatial processes and tools. Prepare reports, visualizations, and presentations to communicate GIS insights to internal and external stakeholders. Mentor GIS users and lead training sessions to enhance the organization's GIS capabilities. Enforce GIS standards and advocate for operational enhancements that improve performance and productivity. Research and recommend GIS-related hardware and software solutions; assist in budget planning and management. Act as the technical expert for all GIS tools, systems, and processes; remain current on GIS trends and technologies. Ensure the GIS environment supports drafting employees in performing their core job responsibilities. Education And Work Experience

Bachelors degree in GIS or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Minimum of 5 years of experience managing enterprise GIS systems. Hands-on experience with spatial databases (e.g., SQL, PostGIS) and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Arcade, ModelBuilder). Demonstrated success in leading and delivering complex GIS projects. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Advanced knowledge of leading enterprise GIS platforms (e.g., Esri ArcGIS). Experience with basic project management and client-facing communication. Proficiency in spatial analysis, geoprocessing, and visualization techniques. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
