The Senior Systems Administrator role is to provide support to resolve end-user computing problems, administer networked systems, and maintain proper network operations. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting and actively resolving service requests by installing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining all computer hardware and network equipment to ensure optimal systems performance. The person will troubleshoot problems (in person, by phone, via e?mail or remotely) in a timely and accurate manner and provide end-user assistance as required. The senior systems administrator is a subject matter expert on a wide array of infrastructure platforms and will be the primary owner of those platforms. The role includes planning, design, and deployment of new infrastructure architecture on a project basis and mentoring to other Systems Administrators. A continual growth mindset and collaboration with team members is expected. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor and troubleshoot servers, storage and other infrastructure hardware Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis and resolution of complex problems for end-users or infrastructure systems and implement corrective solutions, including off-site repair for remote users as needed Perform hands-on fixes at the data center level, including installing/upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups and configuring systems and applications Manage service requests from end-users as necessary Act as an escalation point for end-user issues from the Desktop Support team as applicable Identify and learn appropriate software and hardware used and supported by Telamon Accurately document instances of equipment or component failure, repair, installation and removal Access software updates, knowledge bases and FAQs to aid in problem resolution Perform preventative systems maintenance for servers, workstations, printers and network peripherals Evaluate documented resolutions and analyze trends to prevent future problems Perform server administration duties such as account and resource administration, data backup, and other essential administrative functions Plan, design, and deploy high-performance infrastructure to support company needs Monitor infrastructure for security-related problems and address regularly Design, develop, and maintain backup and DR systems to ensure data loss risk is within acceptable recovery objectives Monitor overall infrastructure performance including Windows servers, Linux servers, ESXi servers, routers, firewalls, switches, access points, and circuits Address outages promptly with root-cause analysis and preventive design Availability on a 24x7x365 basis in the event of a critical outage

This position does not have direct reports.
Travel/Shift Requirements
Some travel may be required based on deployment needs, less than 10%.
Physical Demands
Racking and configuring infrastructure hardware which may require using tools and lifting equipment in excess of 20 pounds.
Skills And Abilities Required
Experience with LAN/WAN environment Experience with enterprise server and storage hardware and management Experience with virtualization technologies such as Citrix, VMware, Hyper-V, and cloud Experience with backup software such as Commvault and Veeam Experience with Disaster Recovery planning, implementation and testing Extensive application support experience with Windows Advanced technical knowledge of TCP/IP, subnetting, DNS, DHCP Extensive application support experience with the full Microsoft production suite Experience with Linux operating systems in an enterprise environment Excellent technical knowledge of infrastructure hardware Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws Excellent written and oral communication skills; interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport building, listening and questioning skills; analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail Ability to present ideas/solutions in user-friendly language; ability to absorb and retain information quickly; ability to conduct research into a wide range of computing issues as required; ability to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation and OEM guides Self-motivated and directed with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment Proficiency in supporting all IT platforms
Education And Experience Required
Associates degree in a related field, such as computer science, information technology, electronics engineering or computer engineering from an accredited college or minimally 3 or more years of related experience and/or professional training with industry-standard certification(s)
