Warehouse Receiving Agent
Under general supervision, receives store stock items; reconciles, codes, inventories, stores and issues materials, equipment and supplies in the district's centralized warehouse or storage yard. Performs other duties as assigned. Distinguishing characteristics this position will require working in warehouse environments and outdoors storage areas; and requires working as a receiving agent for materials delivered by outside vendors and/or delivery agents. The employees in this classification may be reassigned, as required, to assist other personnel or departments and perform other duties when needed. The incumbents are required to serve in after-hour standby/call out person on a rotational basis. This position, at times, requires the management of hazardous materials or waste and thus requires mandatory training in hazardous waste operations, hazardous materials spill response, and/or hazardous materials communication. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Operates computer to access system application process inventory and project information through the materials management and project management areas; assists customers at counters with reservations on the system application process. Assists line construction and contractors crews with issues of all power materials and releases materials through the system application process; assists in the unloading and placement of all scrap materials being returned for salvage; assists in coordination of the staging of materials of ordered materials. Assists district personnel and contractors in the identification of required materials and assists in the selection of those items for release through the system application process. Assists in returns of unused materials or salvaged materials removed from projects by district line construction crews or contractor; inspects items for sale and inventories others for placement into store stock. Pulls and issues materials ordered through the system application process reservation system for departments; assists employees in the proper use of the system application process reservation system to correctly identify materials for release and usage. Operates forklift to handle all types of materials and equipment and; assists other sections using forklift to handle items; and assists loading of issued items. Receives store stock items from receiving, verifies count, and places in proper locations and bins using the goods receipt form; properly identifies and stencils wire reels, transformers, and other stock materials with item codes. Releases requisitions for items issued to mechanical, meter shop and service departments personnel. Records forklift inspections and maintains logs as required by OSHA and district's safety unit. Marginal Duties and Responsibilities: Assists material coordinator in identification, releasing and trouble-shooting of ordered materials; assists with daily inventory count of stock items. Assists customers in sales of district items such as salvaged materials, jackets, caps and miscellaneous items, and materials on daily basis, silent and public auctions. Maintains records and files of transformer sales, locations and where they are being installed. Assists in the receipt, identification and inventory of all materials received by the district receiving; inspects received items for correctness of count, as ordered and files freight claims if material has been damaged in shipment. Assists in maintaining store areas, storage compound and yard areas neat and orderly; assists supervision in onsite jobsite analysis and inspection reports; and assists in maintaining control and access of closed storage areas. Delivers supplies to various departments within district yard; travels to jobsites and storage areas to oversee the receipt, loading and unloading of materials. Performs other duties as assigned.
