Join our team as an Assistant Merchant, where you'll support our Merchandising team in recognizing trends, developing strategic initiatives, and driving business success. This role works closely with Merchants, Merchandise Managers, and key cross-functional partners. What Youll Do Support department objectives to achieve seasonal financial sales and margin targets. Assist in market analysis, identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Support the Merchant in selecting and purchasing product assortments based on trend data and customer insights. Create and maintain accurate assortment sheets and buy plans, ensuring timely communication of updates. Manage purchase order (PO) creation and change management. Provide monthly receipt reconciliation and contribute insights during Open to Buy meetings. Foster strong partnerships across Merchandising, Planning, Allocation, Visual Merchandising, Design, and Product Development teams. Prepare materials and reports for key meetings. Organize and manage web samples for timely turn-ins. Assist in developing and distributing sales tools and business recaps. Perform daily website reviews to ensure accurate product information and timely activations. Analyze customer reviews and provide feedback to the Merchant team. Perform additional duties as needed.
What Youll Need
Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience preferred. 1+ years of progressive experience as an Assistant Merchant. Strong understanding of the competitive retail landscape. Strong analytical and quantitative skills. Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel. Strong customer focus with a commitment to delivering timely and thorough responses. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate and provide clear, direct feedback. Detail-oriented and process-driven with the ability to multitask and manage priorities. Ability to meet deadlines, adapt to change, and take a proactive approach to problem-solving.
