The Opportunity Okta Marketing is seeking a visionary and pragmatic Director to lead our new AI-focused team. This is a unique opportunity to build and lead a small, high-impact team at the forefront of AI innovation in marketing. You will be responsible for creating and executing a strategy that leverages agentic AI and intelligent workflows to drive measurable productivity gains, optimize our operations, and elevate our marketing practices to the next level. This role reports to the VP, Global Demand Marketing and is the strategic liaison to the central Okta AI Hub.

What You\'ll Do

Strategy & Leadership:

Define and own the overall AI innovation strategy for the marketing organization, aligning all initiatives with core business objectives and a three-year horizon for growth and maturation.

Team Management:

Lead and mentor a dedicated 5-person Marketing AI Spoke team, fostering a culture of rapid experimentation, iterative development, and operational excellence.

Portfolio Management:

Oversee the delivery of AI solutions within three key portfolios:

Content & Knowledge: Centralize and automate content creation and knowledge management.

Revenue & Growth: Optimize key handoffs and repeatable processes within the marketing and sales funnel.

Customer Experience: Orchestrate seamless, multi-channel customer journeys.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Partner directly with marketing strategy and operations leaders to identify high-impact opportunities, translate strategic goals into actionable AI initiatives, and ensure seamless integration of new AI agents and workflows into the existing technology stack.

Governance & Enablement:

Establish a clear prioritization and governance framework for all AI initiatives. Partner with the Enablement Lead to drive a culture of AI fluency and adoption across the marketing organization.

Liaison to the Hub:

Act as the primary interface with the central Okta AI Hub, ensuring all initiatives adhere to company-wide AI policies, security, and governance standards.

Business Value & Reporting:

Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on the business value delivered, focusing on productivity, efficiency, revenue impact, and content quality.

What You\'ll Bring

Experience:

A proven track record of leading and scaling technology, data, or product-focused teams within a marketing or sales operations context.

Strategic Acumen:

A thorough understanding of the B2B SaaS demand generation engine, with the ability to identify and prioritize AI applications that directly drive business growth.

Technical Fluency:

A strong understanding of modern AI concepts, including large language models (LLMs), agentic AI, and intelligent automation. You don\'t need to be a developer, but you must be able to understand technical concepts and their business implications.

Collaboration:

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and build consensus across diverse teams.

Compensation & Benefits The annual base salary range for candidates located in San Francisco Bay Area: $206,000 — $309,000 USD. For candidates located in California (excluding the San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, New York, and Washington: $184,000 — $276,000 USD. Base salary is provided along with equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave in accordance with applicable plans and policies.
