Warehouse Assistant
In this role, you will assist delivery carriers with the unloading of parcel packages, record and deliver all shipments to corresponding business unit or department, record all returned shipments, and breakdown according to required returns process. You will also operate warehouse equipment in a safe manner (only when forklift certified by Arvato Services, Inc.), when required, data entry into a warehouse management system, filing of documents and forms. Receive shipments and sign driver paperwork upon receipt of new inbound Ensure freight is unloaded from incoming trucks & staged in designated lane Inspect contents of load to ensure they are undamaged Assume responsibility for contacting Supervisor for any discrepancies upon receipt of load Contact Supervisor for wet shipments identified prior to moving freight from the dock Verify freight unloaded on the dock according to paperwork (quality, PO, material, batch, quantity) Book pallets on the dock for put away Review pallet and booking damages and log on a spreadsheet Update database for any missing paperwork or PO information Ensure PO labels are applied to small parcel deliveries on the inbound dock Ensure BOLs and proper Inbound Documentation Forms are signed and filed accordingly Maintain accurate records of paperwork and file accordingly Other duties as assigned by leadership Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English Technical Skills or Abilities SAP, preferred Computer skills Physical Requirements & Work Environment The ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time in a warehouse environment Requires ability to stand/reach/stoop/bend Stand, bend, stoop, lift, and walk majority of your shift Maximum unassisted lift up to 50 lbs, average lift, less than 10 lbs, assisted lift up to 80 lbs Requires ability to use a keyboard, monitor, RF scanner and calculator Requires the ability to communicate verbally.
