Overview

Responsible for the operations of the Clinical Resource Management Department and for leading the Clinical Excellence initiatives across the health system. Oversees Case Management, Social Services, Utilization Review, and Clinical Documentation Improvement functions of the acute care hospitals across the district. Ensures efficient and effective use of resources, appropriate inpatient placement and transfers, flow of patients through the continuum of care, and ongoing review and improvement of clinical documentation. Provides social services support for mandatory reporting and assists patients requiring social services to return to the community. Develops and mentors a high-performing team; ensures financial viability by managing revenue and expenses, with attention to supply cost utilization and productivity in cost centers under direct control. Coordinates with Managed Care Organizations, Palomar Health managed care, and contract staff to ensure efficient care and appropriate reimbursement; develops and implements cost-saving measures related to length of stay and utilization review. Maintains professional English communication; proficient with standard office equipment and software. Performs other duties as assigned; adheres to Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws, and standards; supports the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.
