Military Technician
This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the DC Army National Guard. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: You must meet the minimum military rank as specified in this announcement. The primary purpose of this position is to provide support for Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs to all State/Territories activities/organizations and perform a wide range of specialized methods/techniques for planning; analyzing and identifying problems in order to develop and implement resolutions to administrative and systemic programs throughout the organization. Duties: Serves as an advisor to the Supervisory Logistics Information Technology (LIT) Specialist (SASMO) and Systems Administrator on all Combat Service Support (CSS) Automated Logistics Systems and Programs. Perform Software conversion, hardware fielding and continuous support. Researches and resolves hardware, software, and applications program problems by troubleshooting and working with user, NGB support agencies, and/or manufacturer/vendors/representatives as required. Analyzes requirements, manages, and coordinates automated logistics information system hardware and peripherals pertaining to the receipt, distribution, installation, and life cycle management of devices that are directed to be managed at unit/state level. Serves as the point of contact for the Sustainment Automation Support Management Office (SASMO) Work Order Desk. Provides telephone coverage for users requesting assistance with hardware/software via a help desk, resolve problems, escalates complex issues to enterprise systems or to a technical specialist/contractor supplied support services; as well as prepares and accomplishes all workorder routing. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of employment: National Guard Membership is required. Minimum Rank: WO1 Maximum Rank: CPT Permanent Change of Station (PCS): PCS not authorized Applicants must obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Special Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance and Information Assurance Management Program Certification Level Technical Level II (IAT II) Qualifications: General Experience: Experience or training that has provided the candidate with the skill in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately; ability to plan, direct, and coordinate difficult and complex programs; ability to develop, apply, and adjust cyber program plans to attain agency objectives; ability to select, develop, and supervise a subordinate staff; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, not only with subordinate staff, but with all levels of key management officials, the latter particularly requiring the exercise of tact, ingenuity, and resourcefulness; ability to make oral and written presentations in a clear and concise manner; ability to apply a high level of sound and independent judgment in the solution of cyber program problems and cyber mission requirements; a broad knowledge of and ability to utilize principles, methods, techniques, and systems; ability to write proper English in reports and presentation formats; ability to communicate clearly and effectively; skilled in training, mentoring, and problem solving; and, skilled in applying procedures and directives by reading and interpreting program material. Specialized Experience: Is experience that prepares the applicant to perform the duties of the position. An applicant must demonstrate the following specialized experiences, as defined for each position, in order to qualify for hire, promotion, or reassignment to a position identified by its applicable position description GS-Grade, Certification Career level, and assigned military skills. Education: An undergraduate degree from an accredited college/university is mandatory. The degree must be in Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services with desired courses in Computer Engineering; Engineering Physics/Applied Physics; Industrial Engineering; Electromechanical Engineering; Electrical, Electronics and Communications; Computer Technology/Computer Systems Technology; Cyber/Electronics Operations and Warfare; Mathematics and Computer Science; Accounting and Computer Science; Computational Science; and Management Information Systems; or Mathematics. A graduate degree in Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services is optimum.
