Production Planner And Scheduler
The production planner creates and manages production schedules to ensure materials, equipment, and labor are available to meet demand and customer needs. The production planner will coordinate with different departments to ensure timely production. Essential job description: Plans and prepare production schedules for manufacturing. Creates and distributes workorders to production employees. Reviews applied Labor and material for accuracy. Updates Eng Master based on actuals. Plan and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times. Coordinates with Customer Service to establish shipping dates for customer orders. Works with department leads and plant manager to manage day to day production needs. Expedite operations that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. Forecasts monthly production output and job completion. Verify job status cards to make sure they are entered correctly. Verify what material comes in and print work orders and print day before work orders. Issue and de-issue material. Check MRP to schedule parts with demand. Review back log for weekly planning meetings. Check emails daily. Manage shop supplies and submit reorders to purchasing. Make sure everyone on the floor has work for the day. Work with purchasing agent on materials needs. Review Inventory adjustment before submitting. Skills and abilities: Ability to read and interpret part specifications or blueprints. Detail-oriented Multitasking Organization skills. Good verbal and communication skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically excel for reporting Working Knowledge of MRP systems, Visual a Plus Education and experience: High School Diploma/GED Five (5) years in manufacturing or supply chain role Physical requirements: May lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
