Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: May be required to drive long distances for placement, appointments, visits for the individuals Escorts individuals to appointments, such as doctors' visits, leisure/recreational activities and discharges, as necessary Utilizes all appropriate security and safety precautions according to established guidelines Provides basic patient care and works with individuals in a mental health setting to develop daily living skills Completes required documentation in patient and unit records Takes vital signs as needed and documents accordingly in the Electronic Medical Record Ensures safety and security of individuals Observes and documents patient data, behavior, and activity Prepares individuals for treatments or examinations Transports and/or accompanies individuals to treatment units May assist with bathing or activities of daily living Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, demonstrate some or all of the following skills/experience: High school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license from the state in which candidate resides 1+ years' direct care experience preferably some experience in mental health Must have a clear MVR record and meet the policy requirements for operating a state-owned vehicle: must be 21 years of age and have a minimum of 3 years driving experience.
