Part-Time Weekend Surgery Technologist

Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a part-time weekend package Surgery Technologist. As a Surgery Technologist at MercyOne, you will prepare the operating room for the surgical procedure including the instruments, equipment, and supplies. Maintain the sterile field during the surgical procedure. Scrubs more general cases which may include general surgery, gynecology, urology, podiatry, and plastics. May also be 2nd, 3rd, or 4th scrub in all surgical specialties. Assists in setting up rooms, secures safe transport of the patient if needed, confirms correctness of the surgical site, prepares the pre-operative site, instruments the case, manages the sterile field and specimens, and turns the room around under the supervision of the circulating nurse. Assesses OR schedule and notes any changes in scheduled procedures. Assists surgical team during the intraoperative phase of the surgical procedures. Participates in the postoperative cleanup of the OR room. Assists in maintaining specialty preference cards. Schedule: Weekend Package Sat & Sun 7a-7:30p General Requirements: CST certification preferred but not required in Iowa. CST certification required if working in Illinois. No prior experience required. BLS. Mandatory Reporter. Education: Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology; completion of surgical tech apprenticeship or military program.
