Troubleshooting Monitoring Engineering Cabling (Data/Voice) Evaluating performance Optimizing system performance Design, direct, review, implement, improve, engineer, and cabling (network/voice) Work with vendors to develop and implement solutions, develop policies and guidelines Troubleshoot major/minor network failures Analyze network capacity; manage vendor relationships and support agreements Validate network billing related to all aspects of the network based on standards and best practices Coordinate and interact with multiple vendors for problem resolution Knowledge of wireline and wireless technologies and standards (fiber optics, T1, DS-3, MPLS, cellular/5G, VoIP, TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, subnetting, routing) Manage all phases of network installation and administration; research and document technologies, topologies, and trends Communicate effectively with internal and external customers Proficiency using MS Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint LAN, WAN, WAP, Cradle Point / NetCloud, and cabling standards Qualifications
Experience in data and telecommunications to include installing, testing, and inspecting deployed communications systems — Required 5 Years Experience in installation, maintenance, and support of critical, multi-site networks — Required 5 Years Knowledge of wire-line and wireless technologies (fiber optics, T1, DS-3, MPLS, cellular technologies, CDMA, TDMA, VoIP, 5G, TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, IP networks) — Required 5 Years Working knowledge of networking tools (Fluke Versiv with light meter, netAlly AirCheck G3, netAlly nXG, iperf3, nmap, Wireshark, traceroute) — Highly desired 2 Years Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio) — Highly desired 1 Year Experience testing copper and fiber — Required 1 Year Travel and Onsite Requirements
Local Richmond, VA candidates required due to onsite requirement Candidates must have a clean driving record and maintain insurance coverage during this engagement Candidates should be able to pay for room/board while travelling; gas card provided for gas Travel may include some overnights, with notice Onsite interviews strongly preferred Important Questions
