Shipping Clerk
REPORTS TO: Shipping Manager REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma Knowledge of logistics operations and shipping procedures and documents preferred PRINCIPLE
OBJECTIVES: Overall monitoring of merchandise leaving the warehouse. Count, pull/pick, or stack parts in preparation of customer requirements. Create shipping documents Pull inventory from shelves Monitor each shipment to make sure that outgoing packages are packed correctly and accurately Print shipping labels, schedule pick-ups, and ensure that each package has the proper postage Prepare shipments for local or long-distance delivery Track shipment delivery statuses and perform inventory control Print daily sales receipts and cross-check with computer software to ensure accuracy Assemble and fill boxes and other cartons with items that need to be shipped Affix proper postage to each package in preparation for shipping Track inventory and report any shortages to sales team so we can update the website Process orders based on the buyer's preferred shipping system (e.g. USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.) . Contact carrier and schedule shipping for each package SKILLS AND EXPECTATIONS: Maintain a safe, clean work environment always Demonstrated integrity with strong business and personal ethics. Detail-orientated, self-starting team player who demonstrates an attitude reflective of the MPI operating values. Understanding of production and plant processes Analytical and numerical skills: ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurement Ability to follow written and oral instructions Ability to lift heavy equipment, to bend, and to stand or walk for long periods of time Show continual improvement by participating in educational opportunities, including both personal and professional development Ability to operate a forklift
