We're looking for a detail-driven Construction Estimator to join our expanding team and play a key role in shaping competitive bids for heavy civil and infrastructure projects. If you have a strong grasp of construction methods, materials, and labor costsand know your way around HCSS HeavyBidthis is an opportunity to make a direct impact on high-value projects across the region. Location: Thornwood, NY Job Type: Full-Time What You'll Do
Develop comprehensive cost estimates using HCSS HeavyBid, covering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors Review plans, specifications, and documentation to produce accurate quantity take-offs and pricing Work closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams to align estimates with real-world conditions Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitive pricing Maintain and refine cost databases, crew libraries, and historical benchmarks Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and walkthroughs to assess scope and risk Support bid proposals, schedules, and value engineering strategies Compare actual costs to estimates and use insights to improve future accuracy Stay informed on industry pricing, trends, and technologies What You Bring
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience Proven experience estimating heavy civil or infrastructure projects Strong understanding of construction drawings, specs, and contracts Excellent analytical and organizational skills Ability to meet deadlines under pressure Clear communication and collaboration skills Bonus Skills
Experience with other HCSS tools (HeavyJob, HCSS Safety) Familiarity with DOT bidding and public works ASPE certification or similar credentials Scheduling software experience (Primavera, MS Project) Why Join Us
