The Human Resources Generalist will work closely with the HR Manager and other HR staff to maintain compliance with company policies, procedures and trainings. The Generalist will also be responsible for employee communications, maintaining the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), employee records, and assisting with special events coordinated by Human Resources, such as GT Week, open enrollment, and performance/compensation reviews. Works with HR Manager on the preparation and distribution of performance and compensation reviews Participates when needed in terminations and investigations as assigned Reviews HIPAA and other violations and advises managers on appropriate action Reviews policies and procedures to maintain compliance Reviews and files workers compensation claims and provides follow-up information as needed Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies to comply with all federal, state and local employment laws Participates in meetings with brokers to ensure benefit plans in place are the best fit for our employees Works closely with the Benefits Specialist to process employee benefit information and assist with benefit enrollment processes Serves as a trusted advisor to employees and managers seeking guidance and support on a variety of business and personal issues Enters payroll changes for staff and audits changes for accuracy Serves as an Assistant Administrator for GTs HRIS system and assists with new implementation processes Performs compensation analyses for current and new positions Maintains job descriptions and scorecards Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the HR department Maintains confidentiality of records Uphold Company mission and values Education
Bachelors degree in human resources or a related field OR commensurate work experience of a minimum of 4 years actively involved in human resources, compensation/benefits, learning and development, or other directly related function. Experience and Qualifications
Proficient in Microsoft Office products Knowledge of labor laws and general HR principles Understand and stay current on compliance standards Effective problem-solving/analysis skills Customer/client focus Ability to oversee and manage multiple tasks Effective oral and written communication Teamwork oriented Excellent decision-making skills Ability to consistently meet deadlines Near acuity and accommodation necessary for checking and copying information. Must be capable of possessing sensitive and confidential information and know when to share such information with the appropriate party. Work Environment
