Medical Office Coordinator

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Work Shift: Days (United States of America) Primary Function/General Purpose of Position Process all incoming and outgoing referrals, manage physician office schedules and provide back-up to Front Office. Employment Qualifications Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Experience: 2 years' experience in a medical office setting required. Ability to operate office equipment to include computer, fax machine and copiers, and familiarity with practice management and EMR systems. Knowledge of medical terminology. Essential Job Functions Provide support and fill in for any non-clinical staff based on immediate needs due to work flow overload or employee absence. Assist office manager in training new non-clinical employees. Handle incoming phone calls and messages from patients. Process all incoming referrals (through EMR system, faxes, phone calls) Process all outgoing referrals ordered by providers. Schedule all patient incoming referral appointments. Assist clinical staff in resolving scheduling issues as requested. Coordinate necessary medical records, lab and radiology results for appointment. Process payments to office as needed. Handle reminder calls to patients for appointments/testing/exams. Work with the Office Manager to problem solve and implement improvements. Bon Secours is an equal opportunity employer.
