Top Secret Management Position

Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the IT Fulfillment Management branch, ensuring that the acquisition, delivery, and recovery of IT assets across the command complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Represents AFOSI with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Exercises oversight and management responsibilities of the command IT commodity item fulfillment process. U.S. Citizenship is required. Males must be registered for Selective Service, see www.sss.gov. This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program. This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employees must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET Security Clearance. Selectee must undergo an internal background investigation by AFOSI and must be approved for duty by the Commander of AFOSI or the Commander's designated representative(s). Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. This position includes information assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement. Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties. A waiver of this six-month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.3. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft. Centrally Managed by the Cyber and Information Career Field Team. Only open to current Air Force civilian employees within SAF/AMR assigned to XT,XTA,XTN,XTF,XTI,XTS. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Information Technology (IT) Management Series, GS-2210 (Alternate A). SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include serving as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to the IT Fulfillment Management Branch. within IT Fulfillment and Asset Management, Division, Information Technology Services and Solutions Directorate, Air Force Office of Special Investigations, leading a team of military and civilian personnel providing IT Fulfillment and Asset Management duties. Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies. Knowledge of risk management processes (e.g., methods for assessing and mitigating risk). Knowledge of resource management principles and techniques, and system life cycle management principles, including hardware and software. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. Skills in reviewing and/or conducting audits of programs and projects. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization. Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and/or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
