This role serves as the primary field-based scientific expert for Jazz products in Sleep Medicine/Neuroscience and involves building scientific relationships with medical professionals and researchers, mentoring and managing projects, and ensuring compliant scientific communication.
Responsibilities
Provide field-based scientific exchange and communication of FDA‑approved and pipeline products. Identify, establish, and maintain scientific relationships with key opinion leaders in disease states of interest. Facilitate scientific development of pipeline compounds at research centers and maintain Jazz’s presence in designated therapeutic areas. Support Jazz Pharmaceuticals-sponsored research in the clinical operations context, as needed. Serve as primary liaison with investigators for investigator-initiated research. Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Commercial, and Clinical Development to ensure compliant scientific communication. Document and forward adverse event reports according to Jazz policy to support safe product use. Attend and provide scientific support for Medical Affairs activities and sessions at regional and national congresses. Develop and prioritize solutions to problems, understanding customer needs and the relationship between actions and results. Mentor peers and demonstrate leadership in cross-functional projects, managing at least two large projects while maintaining geographical responsibilities. Qualifications
Ability to effectively communicate scientific data to internal and external customers, including opinion leaders and managed care organizations. Knowledge of geography and key opinion leaders preferred. Thorough understanding of applicable regulatory requirements for field-based scientific personnel. Demonstrated ability to build trust and relationships with opinion leaders in relevant disease states. Collaborative, team-based approach with the ability to network and partner with internal and external stakeholders including commercial and R&D teams, academic institutions, and managed care organizations. Willingness and ability to travel approximately 60% of work days; ability to work evenings and weekends. Education and Licenses
An advanced doctorate degree (PharmD, MD, DO, PhD, or equivalent). 0-2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or clinical/research experience; MSL experience preferred. Experience in Sleep Medicine preferred; experience in Neurology, Psychiatry, or related fields also considered.
