Macdonald & Company are proudly partnered with a Colorado-based real estate investment and development firm, to appoint a Chief Financial Officer to join the executive leadership team in Monument, Colorado. The firm has a diversified portfolio spanning residential, land, mixed-use, industrial, retail, office, and master-planned communities, pursuing growth across the Mountain West with a strong capital base and a culture of collaboration.
Role The CFO will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, overseeing financial, administrative, and operational functions across the organization. This individual will ensure financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency while providing strategic guidance to support growth and profitability. The CFO will directly manage the Finance, IT, and HR functions, act as primary liaison with investors and banking partners, and collaborate closely with the COO and CEO on long-term capital planning and business strategy.
Role Responsibilities
Lead all accounting and finance operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management across a complex multi-entity structure.
Serve as the main point of contact for investors and banking partners, leading negotiations and securing favorable deal structures.
Partner with executive leadership on capital markets strategy, debt structuring, and fundraising initiatives.
Oversee tax strategy and compliance, with particular attention to 1031 exchanges and investor reporting.
Supervise and mentor a lean accounting and finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
Oversee IT and HR functions, ensuring systems, processes, and people align with business needs.
Manage corporate risk, insurance, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
Lead financial oversight of Metropolitan Districts, including bond issuances, developer reimbursements, and Board participation.
