Vice President of Marketing

to lead the strategy, execution, and evolution of our marketing function across the cannabis ecosystem. As a key member of the executive team, you’ll own the full marketing funnel—from brand positioning and customer acquisition to product marketing and retention—and drive measurable impact in a fast-moving, highly regulated industry.

The impact you’ll make:

Develop and own a comprehensive marketing strategy that drives brand awareness, customer acquisition, retention, and market expansion. Lead all aspects of brand marketing, digital marketing, product marketing, content, communications, and experiential efforts. Define and evolve brand positioning, messaging frameworks, and creative direction that resonate with both B2B and B2C audiences. Build and manage a high-performance marketing team and agency partners, fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and data-driven decision-making. Partner with Product, Sales, and BizOps to ensure tight alignment between customer needs, product roadmap, and go-to-market strategy. Lead customer segmentation, competitive analysis, and voice-of-customer research to inform strategy and optimize campaigns. Oversee digital and performance marketing channels (SEO, SEM, social, email, influencer, affiliate, etc.) to drive efficient growth. Manage marketing analytics, reporting, and attribution models to evaluate ROI and inform decisions. Ensure all marketing activities comply with federal, state, and platform-level cannabis advertising regulations. Champion brand integrity, storytelling, and innovation across every touchpoint—from packaging to retail to community. Hire, develop, and lead a multidisciplinary marketing team across brand, growth, creative, and communications. Serve as a key voice on the executive team, representing the customer perspective and brand vision. Drive internal alignment and enthusiasm for brand initiatives, marketing campaigns, and product launches. Scale marketing infrastructure, tooling, and processes to support rapid growth and multi-market operations. Inspire cross-functional collaboration and evangelize marketing’s role as a growth engine and brand steward. What you’ve accomplished:

10+ years of marketing experience, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role, preferably in highly regulated or consumer-facing industries (Cannabis, CPG, HealthTech, FinTech, Alcohol, etc.). Proven ability to scale B2B, B2C, or multi-sided marketplace brands from early traction through national growth. Deep understanding of customer acquisition, brand strategy, product marketing, and content development. Strong creative instincts paired with analytical rigor—comfortable operating across brand and performance disciplines. Demonstrated success building and leading high-performing, cross-functional marketing teams. Passion for cannabis culture, education, and innovation. Must be okay with travel Bonus Points: Prior experience in the cannabis industry or marketing cannabis-adjacent products under regulatory constraints. Familiarity with digital marketing platforms (Meta, Google, TikTok alternatives), marketing automation tools (HubSpot, Klaviyo), and analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Looker, Amplitude). Experience in multi-market, omni-channel environments (retail, delivery, DTC, B2B). Strong understanding of consumer behavior, lifecycle marketing, and emerging trends in cannabis branding. The base pay range for this position is $245,250.00 to $325,498.00 per year. Benefits
