Job Summary Involves revenue cycle functions for the healthcare enterprise, including system billing, reporting and support. Ensures account information contains accurate and comprehensive data to provide timely billing and optimal reimbursement for services. Impacts processes to include charge capture, coding, insurance identification, data entry, billing, payment posting, refund processing and collections. May also be responsible for / integrated with business office operations.

Department Description UCSF's Temporary Employment Program (TEP) recruits and hires temporary employees for immediate clerical and technical support services to UCSF Departments and various off-campus locations. UCSF departments deploy temporary employees to work on special projects, fill in for regular employees who are on vacation or leave, or to temporarily fill a vacant position during recruitment. Frequently temporary employees become successful candidates for career and limited appointment positions. Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related area

Thorough knowledge of the practices, procedures, and core concepts within the healthcare revenue cycle and its component operations, including billing, collections, charge capture, contractual adjustments, third-party reimbursements, and cash management.

In-depth understanding of revenue cycle processes, reporting tools, performance metrics, analytics, and methodologies used to measure and enhance operational efficiency and financial outcomes.

Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, balance multiple priorities, and drive tasks and projects to successful completion. Proven track record of navigating complex and urgent issues with clarity and efficiency.

Strong skills in report development and dashboard design, with expertise in healthcare revenue cycle-specific software. Proficient in common data analysis, spreadsheet, and presentation tools.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex clinical and financial information. Capable of preparing and delivering impactful reports and presentations tailored to diverse audiences.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess workflows, evaluate system performance, and develop and propose innovative, data-driven solutions.

Adept at working in cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration across diverse clinical and administrative departments, and contributing to complex, enterprise-wide initiatives.

Proven ability to serve as a technical resource to managers and teams, offering guidance on regulatory changes, compliance requirements, and emerging trends in revenue cycle management.

Preferred Qualifications

Radiation oncology experience strongly preferred.

APeX experience strongly preferred.

Certified Professional Coder in good standing with AAPC or AHIMA.

Secondary Specialty Coding Certification.

Billing experience strongly preferred.

License/Certification

Certified Professional Coder in good standing with AAPC or AHIMA

Secondary Specialty Coding Certification
