Help Desk Specialist
to support NIH NIDCD IT Services. The Application Programmer is responsible for developing and enhancing multiple applications in an enterprise environment. Key responsibilities include delivering timely technical support via phone, email, web, and in-person channels, assisting users with email, directories, operating systems, desktop applications, and contract-deployed applications, troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues, providing support for printer-related problems, maintaining accurate records of reported issues and resolutions, escalating complex technical problems to appropriate support teams, and ensuring excellent customer service and communication throughout the support process. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in web design, IT, computer science, or a related discipline. Experience providing technical support in a multi-platform environment (PC and Mac) is required, along with strong knowledge of computer operating systems, desktop applications, email systems, and printers. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues are necessary, as well as strong communication and customer service skills. The ability to work independently and manage multiple support requests efficiently is also required. Preferred qualifications include experience with Agile and Scrum, experience with project management tools (JIRA), and knowledge of JIRA and version control systems. The likely salary range for this position is $43,000 - $60,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position and could fall outside of this range.
