Tyson Foods is hiring: Security Guard (Gate Attendant GA01) in Waverly

Overview

This position is responsible for the physical security of the facility, including assignments to walking or stationary posts, depending upon the location. The role includes inspection and control of persons and vehicles entering or leaving the facility, logging of truck traffic during ingress and egress, writing reports, performing preliminary investigations, and related duties such as switchboard operations, two-way radio communication and intercom equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical security for the facility and accompany assignments to walking or stationary posts as required by location.
• Inspect and control persons and vehicles entering and leaving the facility; log truck traffic during ingress and egress.
• Write reports and perform preliminary investigations; operate switchboard, two-way radio, and intercom systems.

Education

High School diploma or its equivalency preferred

Experience

Supervisory and investigative skills helpful but not mandatory; necessary training provided for successful applicants.

Computer Skills

Basic computer skills are desirable, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Special Skills

Excellent communication skills are a necessity and the applicant must possess the ability to interact respectfully with all team members, including management personnel, and visitors. Must have the ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion.
