Warehouse/Inventory
Manager oversees all warehouse operations and inventory management for BSC Industries’ Canton, MA branch. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate inventory control, efficient material handling, safe working conditions, and exceptional internal and external customer service. The manager will lead a team of warehouse associates, collaborate closely with purchasing, sales, and operations, and drive process improvements to support BSC’s high-growth and acquisition strategy.
Key Responsibilities Warehouse Operations Oversee daily warehouse activities including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and cycle counts. Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, company safety policies, and proper operation of equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse layout to maximize space utilization and workflow. International Shipping Oversee all aspects of international shipping, including the preparation of documentation (e.g., Schedule B codes, commercial invoices, and export declarations) and adherence to U.S. Customs, ITAR, and other regulatory requirements. Coordinate with carriers, customs brokers, and government agencies to ensure timely,compliant export of goods. Train warehouse staff on international shipping procedures and maintain up-to-date knowledge of trade regulations to reduce risk and avoid delays. Partner with sales and customer service to proactively address global customer needs and special export requests. Inventory Management Manage inventory accuracy through cycle counts, reconciliation, and root-cause analysis of variances. Monitor stock levels to meet customer demand while minimizing excess or obsolete inventory. Work with purchasing and sales to forecast demand, manage slow-moving items, and support new product launches. Team Leadership Supervise, train, and develop warehouse staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Schedule and assign daily work to meet productivity and service goals. Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching to ensure employee growth and engagement. Process Improvement Evaluate warehouse processes and implement best practices to increase efficiency and reduce costs. Identify opportunities for automation or technology enhancements (e.g., ERP/WMS upgrades). Support company-wide initiatives for scalability and integration of acquired branches. Requirements: Qualifications 5+ years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or inventory management, preferably in industrial distribution or manufacturing. Strong leadership skills with experience supervising a team. Proficiency with inventory/ERP systems (Epicor Prophet 21 or similar preferred). Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safe forklift operation (forklift certification preferred). Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.
