Packaging Operator
Ochlocknee, GA | $14.00 / Hour A leading manufacturer and supplier of sorbent products is looking for a
Packaging Operator
at a powder packaging plant in Ochlocknee. You will be expected to be punctual, work in a timely manner, and follow all safety regulations to ensure the proper product is manufactured.
This company is a vertically integrated, global organization with extensive mineral reserves, innovative product development, efficient manufacturing operations, and effective sales and marketing strategies. Responsibilities
Operate automated packaging, bulk-bagging, palletizing, or slurry equipment Prepare and apply additives to the products, monitor results for compliance and take appropriate action Set-up equipment, perform daily inspections, and make minor adjustments to the equipment as necessary Ensure the process safely drives quality and production to standards or targets Sample packaged product to verify it meets specifications Identify non-conformance events, documents events, and take appropriate actions Perform manual tasks such as hand stacking product Periodically weigh product packages to ensure weight specifications are met Inspect supplies such as bags, bulk bags and pallets to ensure usable quality and quantity levels are present and to inventory levels Operate forklift to load trailers and move material Interact with the computer systems for compliance, reporting, email, machine set-up and QMS requirements Input environmental, safety, production, maintenance, and shipping data utilizing the CMMS, QMS, AS/400, spreadsheets and/or hand written paper reports Spot, set-up, load and move bulk trucks Observe all safety rules, regulation, and precautions Keep areas clean and free of clutter Perform other duties as assigned Participate in process improvement activities Perform area “workplace inspections” as required including environmental inspections Requirements
High School Diploma or GED Previous forklift experience preferred Previous mechanical or manufacturing experience preferred Ability to use technology to
evaluate/communicate
the status of the process/product Pass computer literacy assessment Understand and act upon all safety and environmental requirements and other related communications Visually differentiate between products and be able to hear audible alarms, instructions, and commands Be able to read and understand Bill of Lading Efficiently interact with and use computer systems Comprehend and follow quality management system Stand for the duration of the shift Lift 60 pounds - duration of shift if necessary Bend, reach, twist, stoop, walk, and climb stairways and ladders frequently Climb ladders up to 110 feet Clean drug screen Willing to undergo criminal background check Location:

Monday – Friday 11:00 pm – 7:00 am
