for Material Handlers/Forklift to maintain production and distribution of product by pulling orders from inventory; entering information in a ERP computer system, delivering production materials and supplies; staging finished product; loading and unloading and managing inventory. POSITION SUMMARY: Material handlers must enter information in a ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning System) to ensure inventory and shipping accuracy. Material handlers supply production area with necessary raw materials. Material handlers load, unload, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site. Material handlers read work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved. Material handlers open containers, using steel cutters, crowbar, claw-hammer, or other hand-tools. Material handlers load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves using a pallet jack, hand-jack, dolly for forklift. Material handlers load materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand-tools. Material handlers convey materials to or from storage or work sites to designated area, using hand-truck, electric dolly, wheelbarrow, or another device. Material handlers secure lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination, using hand-operated crane or hoist, or signals crane or hoisting operators to move load to destination. Material handlers count, weight and record the number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet. Material handlers attach identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers Material handlers stack or assemble materials into bundles and bands bundles together, using banding machine and clincher. Material handlers make simple adjustments or repairs, such as realigning belts or replacing rollers, using hand-tools. Material handlers assemble crates to contain products, such as machines or vehicles, using hand-tools and pre-cut lumber. Material handlers may occasionally operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products. Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution 6 months – 3 years working in a warehouse or manufacturing environment Forklift certification experience preferred 1-3 years operating a Fork truck, lift truck or pallet jack 6 mo.-1 yr. inventory control experience 6 mo. – 1 yr. computer experience or data entry 6 mo. – 1 yr.
