Position Summary The Director of Accounting will oversee all accounting operations across Lupoli Companies’ multi-entity portfolio, ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls, tax compliance, and effective treasury management. The role requires a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise, strategic insight, and the ability to manage and develop a high-performing accounting team. The ideal candidate would be a CPA with significant accounting and tax experience and prior leadership in both hospitality/food & beverage and real estate industries.

Key Responsibilities Technical Lead planning, budgeting, and forecasting. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting by producing financial statements, management reports, and KPIs to track the company’s performance. Collaborate with department leaders to align financial planning with business goals. Ensure that financial statements are completed in accordance with accounting standards and month-end close requirements. Conduct monthly reviews of financial statements with the VP of Finance. Direct all tax planning, compliance, and reporting, ensuring timely filings and optimized strategies. Develop, implement, and monitor internal control systems and segregation of duties to ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory standards. Oversee the company’s cash flow and treasury operations, optimizing liquidity and ensuring efficient use of resources. Provide leadership to support the company’s growth by collaborating across departments on strategy and execution. Drive process improvement initiatives and lead accounting systems implementations. Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a high-performance culture. Team Management Oversee a team of 11 professionals within the accounting department. Allocate, measure, and report on KPIs to team members. Requirements:

Qualifications & Certifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; MBA preferred. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required. Significant tax experience required (corporate, partnership, and multi-entity). Minimum 10+ years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Industry experience in hospitality/food & beverage and real estate required. Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, tax compliance, and financial reporting. Proven ability to lead high-performing teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Key technology expertise preferred: Restaurant365 (R365) and Yardi. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) High accuracy and timeliness of financial statements Strong internal control effectiveness Successful tax compliance and reporting across all entities Major process improvement initiatives implemented successfully Minimal budget variance High team engagement and satisfaction
