As directed, the Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage, shipping, set-up, and receiving plan. Work involves most of the following: verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages, routing materials to prescribed storage or delivery locations; storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods, rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage, removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment. Makes deliveries of materials and packages to various locations within the Pentagon. Travels on a truck to make deliveries to other locations in the National Capital Region. Provides delivery, set up, and breakdown of furniture, safes, and other materials within the Pentagon and locations within the National Capital Region. Operates handheld computers and Personal Computers to complete tracking and inventory This worker may operate hand or power lift trucks, pallet jacks, Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) and other material handling equipment in performing warehousing duties and may be required to drive a light-duty (non-truck) vehicle in the National Capital region for deliveries and/or material pickup. Supports special events by moving, setting up, and tearing down chairs, tables, podiums, bunting, etc.
Physical Demands To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
