Job Description Salary: $18.00+ (DOE) The Tool Crib Attendant plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the manufacturing process by managing, organizing, and distributing tools and equipment to support production and maintenance activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of manufacturing operations. The Tool Crib Attendant will be responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory of tools, tracking tool usage, and coordinating tool repairs and replacements as needed.

Knowledge of CNC and shop tooling is required as is familiarity with operation of a Presetter. Previous experience in measuring tooling using pre-setting equipment is a plus, as is familiarity with different types of inserts. You will be required to identify different types of cutting tools, break down and sort through loose tooling, and set and adjust various types of boring heads.

Key Responsibilities: Tool Management: Maintain the tool crib and ensure the proper storage, organization, and inventory control of all tools and equipment. Tool Distribution: Issue tools and equipment to authorized personnel, ensuring accurate record-keeping and adherence to company policies and procedures. Inventory Control: Conduct regular inventories, monitor stock levels, and reorder tools and equipment as necessary to meet production and maintenance requirements. Tool Maintenance and Repair: Coordinate the inspection, maintenance, and repair of tools and equipment, liaising with the appropriate departments or external vendors as needed. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of tool transactions, including issues, returns, repairs, and replacements. Generate reports on tool usage, inventory levels, and any discrepancies. Tool Calibration: Coordinate the calibration of measuring instruments and ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with tool suppliers and vendors, ensuring timely delivery of ordered items and competitive pricing. Safety and Compliance: Promote and enforce safety protocols and procedures related to tool usage, storage, and maintenance. Ensure compliance with relevant occupational health and safety regulations. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and efficiency gains within the tool crib operations. Implement best practices and suggest innovative ideas to enhance tool management processes. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to understand tool requirements, address any tool-related issues, and provide excellent customer service.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certification is a plus. Previous experience in a similar tool crib or inventory management role within a manufacturing environment is preferred. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and track multiple tools and equipment efficiently. Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining tool records and inventory counts. Knowledge of tools commonly used in a manufacturing setting and their appropriate storage and handling. Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic computer proficiency. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with different teams and vendors. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to tool usage and storage.
