Silverthorne Advisory Group is seeking a candidate to join an exciting and growing opportunity within the Defense sector. The day-to-day responsibilities of the role would entail the oversight of client delivery for a complex workstream in an analytic space. The candidate would act as a lead for a mid-size team to enhance a clients financial management practices through leveraging current data analytic capabilities. The candidate will also operate in an ever-changing landscape and will be directly involved in finding opportunities for future growth.
On a regular basis, the candidate will be challenged to lead the analysis of large data sets in an effort to advise the client on strategic and financial decisions. Being familiar or fluent in scripting languages (i.e. SQL and/or Python) will be key in the daily scope of responsibilities. The subsequent creation of documentation, change management, and implementation to a broad group of stakeholders will likely follow these discovery efforts. The candidate will likely act as a key point of coordination between other financial management teams, technical liaisons, and an Independent Public Accountant (IPA).
The position will be based at Scott AFB (Illinois): on-site.
Responsibilities
Lead a team of four to five junior staff and ensure completion of technical and functional deliverables Serve as the primary point of contact for the client and translate client needs into functional requirements Oversee the comprehensive management and completion of multiple project plans, each varying in complexity Support ongoing ERP modernization and enhancement efforts to improve the internal control environment Develop and implement data governance protocol to support interface enhancement efforts between financial systems Ensure the compliance of key financial systems with regard to SFIS guidelines Support the end-to-end management of Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) and the closure of respective Notice of Findings and Recommendations (NFRs) Identify areas for future growth within the immediate team and adjacent
Requirements 10+ years of relevant experience; Federal experience preferred 3+ years of experience in managing junior staff Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and an intellectual curiosity for the synthesis of large, disparate sets of data Strong communication skills and the ability to aggregate large volumes of data into concise messaging Proactively manage multiple tasks and coordinate communications with stakeholders across varying organizations Familiarity and experience with data analytic tools (e.g. SQL, Databricks, iQuery) Interim Secret clearance or higher required (Silverthorne is able to sponsor) PMP, CDFM, CGFM and/or CPA certifications preferred Bachelors and/or Masters degree from an accredited university
