The Classic Cafe is seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Line Cook to join our team. Ideal candidates will have experience in fast-paced breakfast dining, working in an open kitchen, food handling, and meal prep.
Free shift meals and a good working environment.
Preference will be given to applicants with weekend and morning availability.
Responsibilities ● Lead shift crew, call out orders and needs, maintain pace ● Prepare and cook menu items according to the recipes ● Safely operate kitchen equipment and follow proper food handling procedures ● Keep the kitchen and prep areas clean and maintained ● Work as a kitchen team to ensure timely and accurate food production ● Ensure all food is prepared and cooked to food safety standards and procedures ● Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies and notify management when supplies are low
Requirements ● Prior experience as a line cook or prep cook in a fast-paced kitchen. Preferably as a lead ●
Knowledge of culinary techniques and knife skills ● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple requests in a timely manner ● Attention to detail and adherence to food safety standards ● Willingness to assist in all areas of the kitchen as needed, including prep, line cooking, and dish ● Must have weekend availability and be able to work at 6:15 am on most days.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods of time, and carry items up and down a flight of stairs.
