POSITION SUMMARY The WorkLIFE Specialist position is a vital role responsible for connecting program participants with potential employers. This role works diligently to understand the needs of the program participants, providing professional mentorship, and aligning them with suitable job opportunities. By maintaining strong relationships with local businesses and organizations, and staying current with market trends, WorkLIFE Specialists ensure that candidates are well-prepared and positioned for success. This role involves various tasks, including conducting interactive workshops, coordinating job readiness trainings, and providing personalized career counseling, making it both challenging and deeply rewarding.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / FUNCTIONS

Develops and maintains relationships with employers to identify job opportunities for students.

Coordinates workshop sessions on time management, financial literacy, professional etiquette, conflict resolution, and interviewing skills.

Coordinates attendance at job fairs, recruitment events, and networking opportunities.

Assists with resume writing, interview preparation, and job search strategies.

Coordinates individual and group career counseling sessions.

Tracks and monitors participant placement data and employment outcomes.

Collaborates with SGM departments to integrate career readiness into the curriculum.

Updates and maintains job placement databases and career resources.

Provides ongoing support to participants throughout their job search process.

Creates promotional materials to market placement services to potential employers. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Human Resources, Business Administration, or Education. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role. Experience in career services or human resources. Strong network of industry contacts. Familiarity with job placement databases and career resources. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Proven track record of successful

student/participant

placements. Strong knowledge of job search techniques and career counseling principles. Proficiency in using career management software and tools. Ability to facilitate effective workshops and presentations when needed. Strong analytical skills to track and report on placement metrics. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to walk and/or sit; use hands to fingers or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. The employee must be able to bend, stoop, pull, push, lift, as well as have overhead extension of arms. Must be able to stand for long periods of time; be able to lift, carry or move at least 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in a public building and/or outdoors and thus will be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
