MATERIAL HANDLER
Monday - Friday
$16.00 - $17.00 per hour ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Process customer orders and manual shipments (B-tickets) for shipment Maintain daily contact with inventory personnel, materials buyers/planners, expediters, master scheduler, quality control, management staff, carriers, and corporate personnel Review order HOLDs and communicate with customer service Verify inventory availability for shipment (location & quantity) Release sales orders to pick status and monitor orders not yet shipped Maintain accurate shipping records per company retention policy Coordinate freight schedules (small package, will call, LTL, TL) Follow up on allocated orders not yet picked with appropriate personnel Provide shipping documents and commercial invoices as requested Serve as liaison between customer service and shipping activities (weights, dims, shipping methods, etc.) Monitor and maintain shipping supply levels Assist with material handling and forklift operations as needed Perform other duties as assigned, including overtime as required JOB REQUIREMENTS High School diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience Previous shipping/material handling experience required Forklift certification and experience required Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Oracle experience strongly preferred Strong verbal and written communication skills in English Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Ability to lift 50+ lbs (with assistance as needed) and work in bending, squatting, standing, and ladder-climbing positions for extended periods Preferred: Associate’s degree and experience with bills of materials
