The React Software Engineer (Mid Level) will work with the UI/UX development team and SpiderRock's business stakeholders and designers to build interfaces for our leading-edge web-based products. This is a full-time salaried position that reports to the Head of UI/UX Design and the role will work at our Chicago downtown office. WHAT YOU WILL DO Leverage React to develop highly performant applications that handle heave data flows. Implement backend API endpoints and WebSocket handlers in C#. Collaborate with Design and Product to understand and plan features, implement pixel-perfect designs, and expected functionality. Help to troubleshoot, test, and maintain the quality and security of web applications. Produce meaningful unit tests for functionality to ensure backwards compatibility. Maintain and promote development best practices and coding standards. WHAT SPIDERROCK IS LOOKING FOR 4-year college degree in Computer Science, or related field or equivalent work experience. 3+ years of experience building web applications. Demonstrated ability to develop in Typescript with React, Material UI, Node.js. Additional technical skills in C#, Python and SQL a plus. Knowledge of the financial markets preferred but not required. Experience working in an Agile environment. Implement backend API endpoints and WebSocket handlers in C#. Collaborate with Design and Product to understand and plan features, implement pixel-perfect designs, and expected functionality. Communication with end users, assessing requirements and managing expectations professionally. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressured technology environment. Independent project and time management. Professional, motivated attitude. Stong interpersonal skills.
