Senior International Credit Analyst Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Fintrust Connect is recruiting on behalf of a
confidential international bank
for a
Senior International Credit Analyst . This role requires deep expertise in
international and domestic credit analysis , financial modeling, and cross-border risk assessment. The analyst will underwrite complex credit facilities with a strong emphasis on
trade finance
and
commercial real estate (CRE)
while ensuring strict compliance with credit policies and regulatory standards. This position reports directly to the
Credit Manager , who is recognized for fostering a
supportive, growth-oriented team culture . The bank offers a collaborative and international environment, where analysts are encouraged to grow their expertise and contribute to strategic global credit decisions. Key Responsibilities
Credit Underwriting & Analysis
Conduct detailed credit assessments of
foreign and domestic obligors , including analysis of audited financial statements, tax returns, cash flows, and industry/economic considerations.
Underwrite a diverse portfolio:
Commercial Loans, Trade Finance, Commercial Leasing, Correspondent Banking, Domestic C&I, Leveraged Loans, CRE, and Shared National Credits .
Evaluate
sovereign, political, and currency risks
when underwriting cross-border borrowers.
Prepare comprehensive credit memoranda and recommendations for credit committees.
Financial Modeling & Risk Forecasting
Build and maintain financial models including DSCR, ratio analysis, stress testing, and sensitivity analysis.
Incorporate macroeconomic indicators and sovereign risk into credit decisions.
Commercial Real Estate (CRE) & C&I Lending
Underwrite
non-owner occupied CRE loans up to $10M .
Evaluate
C&I trade finance transactions ($5M$7M range) , including owner-occupied and smaller professional program loans based on tax returns.
Balance domestic and international underwriting across borrower types and deal structures.
Collateral Oversight
Monitor collateral values, valuation dates, and methodologies for adequacy and compliance.
Portfolio & Policy Management
Conduct
annual reviews
of existing credits (portfolio management handled by the lending team).
Contribute to enhancements in credit policy and underwriting standards.
Stakeholder & Committee Engagement
Collaborate with Relationship Managers, Legal, and Compliance teams during due diligence.
Present credit analysis and recommendations to senior leadership and credit committees.
Turnaround & Productivity
Prepare credit packages on a
rush basis in 2 days
when needed.
Handle complex deals in about a week; simpler requests in less time.
Innovation & Tools
Utilize
Moodys Credit Lens, Bankway, AccuSystems , and advanced Excel.
Leverage risk analytics and emerging tools to enhance efficiency and decision-making.
Work Schedule
First 90 Days (Onsite Immersion): Fully onsite Monday-Friday for training, integration, and team collaboration.
After 90 Days (Hybrid Schedule): Alternating hybrid structure: Week A:
2 days onsite, 3 days remote
Week B:
3 days onsite, 2 days remote
Continues alternating 2/3 then 3/2 cadence.
Qualifications
Education & Credentials Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related discipline.
Advanced certifications (CFA, CBCA, MBA) preferred.
Experience Minimum
5 years of credit analysis/credit risk experience within a bank .
International credit experience required .
Exposure to
trade finance, CRE, and C&I lending
highly valued.
Technical Skills Strong financial modeling and credit analysis skills.
Proficiency with
Moody's Credit Lens, Bankway, AccuSystems , and Microsoft Office.
Language Proficiency Bilingual English/Spanish required
(verbal and written).
Soft Skills Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple complex transactions.
Strong communicator and collaborator with cultural agility.
