Position Summary: The Head Racquet Sports Professional reports directly to the Director of Tennis and oversees the daily operations of tennis, pickleball, and bocce at Wycliffe Golf & Country Club. This role focuses on program development, staff leadership, facility management, and delivering outstanding experiences for members and guests. The Head of Racquet Sports serves as a visible ambassador for the club, ensuring programs are innovative, well-run, and aligned with Wycliffe’s culture of excellence. Essential Responsibilities: Program Development
Plan and manage a full calendar of racquet sports activities, including leagues, tournaments, clinics, and social events. Oversee bocce programming to enhance member engagement. Collaborate with Marketing & Communications to promote events and initiatives. Evaluate program success using participation data and member feedback. Represent the club at USTA, USPTA, PTR, and regional association meetings.
Leadership
Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise assistant professionals and court maintenance staff. Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluations. Ensure professionalism, service excellence, and safety across all racquet operations.
Administrative & Financial Management
Assist the Director of Tennis with annual budget preparation and management. Oversee racquet sports inventory, supplies, and teaching equipment. Maintain accurate records for lessons, clinics, and event participation. Provide racquet sports updates for the club newsletter and member communications.
Facility Management
Oversee the condition and maintenance of tennis, pickleball, and bocce courts. Partner with the maintenance team to ensure facilities and equipment are well maintained. Monitor booking systems to maximize court use and enforce reservation policies. Communicate facility needs to the Grounds & Building team for timely resolution.
Coaching & Instruction
Provide private and group instruction for all ages and skill levels. NRTP 4.5 or UTR 8.0 playing level or above. Must be able to coach Pickleball & Tennis Participate in ambassador play with members to strengthen relationships and promote programs. Stay current on racquet sport trends, certifications, and best practices.
Member Experience
Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for members and guests. Respond promptly and professionally to member inquiries and concerns. Engage in club events and social activities to build community.

High School Diploma or GED required. Tennis/Pickleball experience in club or hotel/resort setting required. 3-5 years management experience. USPTA or PTR certified with four or more years teaching experience. Must be willing and able to teach Pickleball & Tennis. Must be NRTP 4.5 or UTR 8.0 or above.
