As a Survey Project Manager, you’ll work with a multi-disciplinary team on landmark projects throughout Southern California. You’ll collaborate with industry experts, contribute to shaping communities, and have opportunities for mentorship, professional growth, and team collaboration. This position is responsible for managing clients, employees, and projects, including the collection of information and execution of surveying and construction staking projects, within the framework of California’s standards and requirements. Essential Responsibilities

Provide direction, support, and mentorship to staff members.

Oversee time management and scheduling for projects.

Write proposals and prepare cost estimates.

Ensure project goals are met on time and within budget.

Prepare CAD drawings for boundary surveys, topographic maps, ALTA/NSPS surveys, land title surveys, as-built surveys, subdivision maps, and other survey-related documents.

Process submittals with various city and county agencies.

Coordinate construction bid document preparation and contract management.

Engage with clients and public agency personnel for successful project execution.

Qualifications

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in office mapping related to private land development and public works projects, preferably in California.

At least three (3) years in a management role supervising staff.

Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to establish positive working relationships with clients and public agencies.

Experience preparing construction staking calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D and performing detailed take-offs and construction cost estimates.

Familiarity with construction phase sequencing, identifying site constraints, and understanding regulatory issues.

Proficient in preparing legal descriptions, boundary analysis, closure calculations, and exhibits.

Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Trimble Business Center; familiarity with Carlson software is a plus.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervise and provide direction for daily tasks for field crews.

Coordinate with project engineers, survey analysts, clients, and contractors.

Schedule field crews, evaluate staff performance, and prepare survey cost estimates while managing contract hours and scope of work.
