We are looking for candidates with a proven track record of project success and strong tenure with previous employers. A few job changes are acceptable, but consistent short-term employment will be a disqualifier. Professional Engineering (PE) licensure is strongly recommended. Experience: Project Manager I:
0-5 years in an MEP engineering firm or related experience. Project Manager II:
5+ years in an MEP engineering firm or related experience as a Project Manager I. Project Manager I:
$90,000 - $119,000 Project Manager II:
$115,000 - $135,000 Qualifications (Both Levels): Bachelor of Science Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent) from an accredited university. Certificates and Licenses (Both Levels): Engineer In Training (EIT) or Professional Registration (PE) preferred. Responsibilities (Both Levels): Project Leadership:
Manage all aspects of MEP projects, from planning and design through construction administration and closeout, taking ownership of project success. On-Time & Within-Budget Delivery:
Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within the approved budget, proactively managing risks and resources. Budget & Scope Management:
Develop and manage project budgets, track expenses, and control scope, including change orders and invoices. Client & Stakeholder Communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact, facilitating clear and consistent communication with clients, consultants, and internal teams. Project Coordination:
Coordinate all project activities, including scheduling, meetings, resource allocation, and collaboration between disciplines. Construction Administration:
Oversee the construction administration phase, managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, and conducting site visits. Quality Control & Code Compliance:
Ensure projects meet quality standards and comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and industry best practices. Document Management:
Manage all project documentation, including drawings, specifications, meeting minutes, and project files, utilizing project management software. Drawing & Specification Review:
Review drawings and specifications (structural, architectural, civil, technology, MEP) to identify potential issues and ensure coordination. Continuous Improvement:
Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within project management practices. Additional Responsibilities (PM II): Developing new client relationships. Mentoring and training Project Manager I's. Assisting with interviewing and hiring Project Manager I's. Overseeing projects with design fees greater than $1 million. Accountabilities (Both Levels): Achieve utilization, revenue, and realization targets. Meet project milestones and design accuracy standards. Achieve annual learning and development goals. Fulfill responsibilities on internal projects. Skills (Both Levels): Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam. Knowledge of building codes. Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Ability to negotiate budgets, schedules, and resources. Competencies (Both Levels): Adaptability to changing priorities.
