POSITION: Technician, Fuel Systems Services - 2nd Shift LOCATION: Jupiter, FL STATUS: Hourly Non-Exempt
JOB SUMMARY ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following: Performs assessment on various gas turbine components received for inspection by following written procedures, documents (blueprints, drawings, and specifications), and established practices Performs visual inspections as required of own work and work of others before part movement to next operation. Performs NDT processing as required (FPI, airflow, etc.) working directly with Staff or Senior Level Technicians on interpretation of findings Generates NCRs in the QSI system Utilizes precision measuring equipment and hand tools as required for assessment, disassembly and final assembly Operates small cranes to move equipment, parts, and material Maintains a clean and orderly work area Performs work following all applicable safety procedures and policies NDT processing (Visual FPI, airflow, water flow) Other duties as assigned MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education & Training High School Diploma or GED equivalent Must complete EHS assigned regulatory training for work area as described by PSM’s EHS Training Matrix
Skills/Experience 2+ years of experience manufacturing experience with specific skills in at least one of the following disciplines: grinding, blending coatings, coatings application, coatings removal (strip line), blasting, heat treat, machining or welding or similar skillset. 2+ years of experience with interpretation of technical drawings or work instructions 2+ years of experience in a production or maintenance environment Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes Basic knowledge of MS Office programs, SAP, and time keeping applications
Physical Requirements Stooping/Crouching.
Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. Kneeling. Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees. Crawling. Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet. Reaching. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Standing. Particularly for sustained periods of time Walking. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work area to another. Pushing & Pulling Lifting up to 50 lbs. Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. Grasping. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes. The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level. The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. May require travel (air & ground) with short notice.
