Job Summary
As a CT Technologist, you will perform diagnostic CT exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment. Your primary responsibility will be to verify patient identity, review medical records, and assess risk factors such as medications and pregnancy. You will explain procedures to patients, including side effects of pharmaceuticals administered, risks, benefits, alternatives, and follow-up instructions. Your technical skills will be essential in setting up equipment and acquiring high-quality images as per script. You will also review images, make initial observations, document exceptions from established protocols, and communicate data to radiologists.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic CT exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment.
- Verify patient identity and review medical records for appropriateness of exam or procedure.
- Assess risk factors such as medications and pregnancy.
- Explain procedures to patients, including side effects of pharmaceuticals administered, risks, benefits, alternatives, and follow-up instructions.
- Set up equipment and acquire high-quality images as per script.
- Review images, make initial observations, document exceptions from established protocols, and communicate data to radiologists.
Qualifications
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiology (R) or Computed Tomography (CT) preferred.
- Required to have or successfully complete American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support – Healthcare Provider (BLS) training by end of orientation period.
- One or more years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiology or advanced certification in Computed Tomography (CT).
