Senior Naval Engineer position at

Senior engineer responsible for all aspects (performance, cost, schedule) and all phases (design and development) of Navy combatant programs. Work with the Program Manager and government stakeholders to perform tasks and submit deliverables. Provide technical engineering knowledge, expertise, and recommendations. Lead appropriate program briefings when required. Direct and supervise work, set schedules and deadlines to ensure timely completion. Direct activities of engineers, advise management on engineering problems, and apportion work according to specialization. Direct engineers in formulating plans, designs, cost estimates, and specifications for development, maintenance, and modernization programs. Assist in full life cycle development (enhancements) and support for operational systems; participate in process improvement activities and research current and future architecture limitations. Provide guidance for software development activities and lead project briefings as needed. Participate in risk reviews, work management meetings, lessons learned, requirements reviews, peer reviews, test readiness reviews, leadership meetings, and engineering meetings. Collaborate closely with the Project Management Team; document and manage hardware, systems, and software requirements. Qualifications & Experience
10 to 15 years of professional engineering experience supporting new Navy ship construction. Familiarization with Ship Design Principles. 7+ years in DoD/DoN program management; DoD/DoN procedures and policies (DoD 5000 process), contracting experience, and experience communicating with SES/Flag level personnel; shipbuilding experience. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline; Master’s degree preferred; Professional Engineering Certification preferred. Membership in industry societies (SNAME or ASNE) is a plus. Must be eligible to hold an active DoD SECRET security clearance. Location & Clearance
