Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Poway, California. In this role, you will be responsible for managing vendor relationships, processing invoices, and ensuring accurate and timely payments. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the efficiency of our financial operations. Responsibilities: Review and process a high volume of invoices daily, including freight and service-related invoices, using both 2-way and 3-way matching. Manage the accounts payable inbox and address vendor inquiries in a timely and meticulous manner. Verify and code expense reports using Certify software, ensuring accuracy before submission for processing. Prepare and coordinate weekly check runs, including compiling analyses for approval and uploading payments into the system. Maintain accurate records of vendor accounts, processing payments for approximately 50-80 vendors weekly. Post payments to customer accounts and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately. Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain compliance with company policies. Assist in preparing checks for select vendors as required. Utilize ERP and other accounting systems to streamline accounts payable processes. Monitor and improve accounts payable workflows for greater efficiency. Requirements: Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar financial role. Proficiency in accounting systems, including ERP platforms and Certify software. Strong understanding of 2-way and 3-way matching processes. Familiarity with handling high volumes of invoices, averaging 30-40 invoices per day. Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment. Solid knowledge of accrual accounting principles and automated payment systems such as ACH. Effective communication and problem-solving skills to manage vendor relationships. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
