Visitor Experience Representative

Join our team as a Visitor Experience Representative at the Bemidji Tourist Information Center, located in scenic Paul Bunyan Park in downtown Bemidji, the First City on the Mississippi. You'll provide year-round visitor information services while delivering exceptional customer service to guests from around the world. Help visitors discover the very best of Bemidji, from its vibrant arts scene and historic downtown to its pristine lakes and scenic trails. First review of application will occur on September 12th, 2025. This position will remain open until filled. Assist with visitor information services at the Tourist Information Center located in downtown Bemidji in Paul Bunyan Park and provide exceptional guest services. Works under the daily work direction of the Visitor Experience Coordinator and the Parks Superintendent. None. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Provides professional, efficient, and approachable support and excellent customer service to visitors and staff alike. Maintains a well informed and working knowledge of Bemidji and surrounding area attractions and services available to area visitors, acts as a liaison between visitors and these entities. Assists visitors by providing wayfinding directions, event information, and suggestions for local restaurants/retail and regional attractions. Computer entry and tracking of visitor inquiries. Update and organize visitor and community resources. Promote local business and community events. Sell merchandise and rent equipment. Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed. Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience Graduation from high school or GED equivalent; and Prefer at least two (2) years of basic customer service. Ability to display and act in a professional manner. Strong communication and organizational skills. Word processing and administrative support skills desired. Must be a confident public speaker able to work with groups of all ages and backgrounds. Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of the Bemidji Community. Knowledge, skill and ability to handle emergency situations. Ability to work independently without close supervision. Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential information. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, department staff, and the public. Special Requirement First Aid and CPR certified, or ability to obtain within one year (1). Supplemental Information

Tools and Equipment Used

Personal computer (Microsoft programs including word processing, spreadsheets, presentations and database software), calculator, multi-line telephone system, scanner, copy machine, credit card machine or point of sale.
