Lateral Transfer Opportunity
This is a transfer opportunity restricted to permanent employees of the County of Kern who have successfully completed their initial probationary period and are currently classified as a Fiscal Support Specialist. Under supervision, to perform specialized support activities requiring in-depth knowledge and experience in the area of assignment. Duties include: preparing statistical data; serving as a lead to lower levels; training new employees; creating spreadsheets; balancing funds; and gathering data and statistics. This is the second level of the three level fiscal support series. The Fiscal Support Specialist is distinguished by the responsibility for maintaining an integrated set of financial and statistical records. It is distinguished from the Fiscal Support Supervisor, which is responsible for performing full supervisory responsibilities. Positions may supervise the work of lower levels in the fiscal support series. Kern County employees provide opportunities that are purposeful to our community. Social Security Administration: Note: Both Kern County and the employee contribute to Social Security and Medicare as follows: The County of Kern withholds 6.2% for Social Security (FICA1) and 1.45% for Medicare (FICA2) from employee's payroll warrants The County matches the employee's 6.2% for Social Security and 1.45% for Medicare Employee Assistance Program: EAP is available to help you take control of your life!
