Join Our Team as a Temporary Customer Service Representative - With a Pathway to Veterinary Assistant!
Humane Colorado's Veterinary Hospital at the CSU Spur campus is looking for a temporary Customer Service Representative (CSR) to join our mission-driven team. This role offers a unique opportunity for individuals interested in veterinary medicine, with the goal of training and transitioning into a Veterinary Assistant position in early 2026.
As a CSR, you'll play a key role in supporting access to high-quality veterinary urgent care for underserved populations through our incremental care model. You will be the first point of contact for clients, helping to coordinate care, support our veterinary team, and contribute to our mission of preventing and alleviating animal suffering while treating all clients with dignity.
Located just north of downtown Denver, our hospital at the CSU Spur campus is part of the National Western Center redevelopment. Our facility offers public-facing exam, surgery, and dental suites, making this a truly unique and educational environment for both clients and staff.
Purpose of Position:
Provide exceptional customer service to our patrons, ensuring a smooth and orderly flow of patients through the hospital. This position works directly with underserved community members and their pets to provide high quality, affordable veterinary care for sick and injured pets.
Responsibilities
Serve as the first point of contact for patrons, and as such responsible for setting a positive tone in a variety of situations. Provide professional and compassionate service in an urgent care setting. Ensure patron check-in and discharge processes are smooth and efficient. Manage hospital calendar by accurately scheduling, confirming, and canceling appointments. Answer phone calls professionally, courteously and in a timely manner. Accurately enter patron payments and create end-of-day reports. Prepare, update and maintain electronic patient and client records through our veterinary practice management software. Assist with educating patrons on basic hospital information and procedures. Maintain professional and courteous demeanor in challenging/stressful situations Assist with front desk and lobby cleaning and maintenance. Maintain front desk equipment and supplies. Contribute to and lead initiatives to improve processes and procedures. People Care

(starting pay commensurate with market, experience, and equity)
Work Conditions and Physical Requirements
Handle animals of various sizes, weights, and temperaments. Subject to animal bites or scratches. Work performed in high noise level areas. Exposure to cleaning chemicals, fumes, dust, animal dander, and feces. Physical efforts may occasionally require bending, stooping, standing, climbing stairs, and walking.
